Thanks for this book, Alice Oseman. In the words of one of my students (17yo girl) who really identified with Tori, “it feels like Alice Oseman wrote a story about me”. I’m trying to find similar books to recommend her (YA fiction, mental health, friendship, etc.). If anyone has ideas. Thank you!

Not my favorite book to read, but it was good to learn more about Tori. I happened to read this shortly before vol 5 of heartstopper, which worked out well for the timeline of events. Made some things in vol 5 make sense immediately to me.

To think I almost DNF’ed this in the first couple chapters. Makes me feel so much better about my depression and relationships.

Also, I hate Becky. I knew too many Becky’s. “I’m not going to apologize because I did nothing wrong” after kissing your supposed best friend’s brother’s homophobic bully who punched him a couple days ago. Yeah right.

it's not terrible, but you can definitely tell this is a debut by a 17 year old. the only issue with it really is that it's just a bit cringey
