Absolutely gorgeous. I still find myself wanting to go back into the beautiful world Miller crafts weeks later.

Madeline Miller could keep doing the same general theme of fleshing out secondary characters in epics and I’d read them all forever. She has a way of fleshing out these characters—obviously Patroclus in “Song of Achilles” and the titular Circe—in a way that feels definitive and “correct,” in a way that I find stunning for what could be derisively termed fanfic if it wasn’t handled this elegantly.

And that’s all just about the craft. The story itself is lovely and heartbreaking and hopeful and everything you’d hope to get from a retelling of one of the most famous women in literary history.

Definitely a very different read for someone who's used to romance and fantasy, but it was a pleasant trip.

Pfiouuu c'était trop beau, j'ai tout aimé mais surtout la dernière partie avec Pénélope et son fils. Et la fin, mon dieu la fin

I need to get my hands on some books with female rage cause I absolutely devoured the story once Circe snapped
