I absolutely devoured this adaptation of the Manson family murders. Cline’s writing is stunningly immersive and addicting.

Beautiful coming-of-age story! The jumping back between past and present was very cleverly done and also helped to see how cult behavior is romanticized in modern times. I didn’t realize the story was based on a real cult (the Manson family) until I started reading reviews. That definitely made it hit harder for me!

I loved this. It is outrageous, but so are cults. The writing is extraordinary and she really captures place (California) and time (present + majority 1969) so well.

i feel like it didn’t get the vibe of a sixties summer right? like all the words were there and all the actions and characters just none of the spark. overall just fairly bland but not bad
