Loving this series
There’s something so cozy about this author’s writing style. I liked the first in the series better, but I liked this enough to keep going with the next in the series. Really endearing characters.
I love this series and I am learning much many aspects of home life during WW 2 that I was not aware of.

Listened to it while sewing etc and was enjoyable enough. But the middle felt a bit drawn out. Very chipper vibe but interesting look at a part of WW2 that I didn’t know much about

i was so disappointed by this sequel. i absolutely adored dear mrs bird - it had such a clear voice, such a well rounded personality, that it really felt like talking to a friend. her way of talking just leapt off the page. yours cheerfully somehow lacks that entirely. i don’t know. i was just so let down, it felt like emmeline had no personality any more other than Nineteen Forties Woman.
I'd wanted to get into Dear Mrs Bird but found the tone too twee for me, but I really liked the central idea so I gave this a go, but, sadly, it's just not for me; no reflection on the quality of the writing. Totally get why others love it.
