Let's see what James Wan and Osgood Perkins do with it for the film.

This story being short was good yet I still felt like it gets very heavily wordy. My other reviews I stated that at the start it seemed to be the main giving the power to the monkey/ was blaming it for things no one can control.
However at the end it real felt like something more. But I also wonder if that's because by then we are also now tainted by fear or the monkey.

All cymbal monkeys are evil just like this

Delighted, Hal had turned it this way and that, feeling the crinkle of its nappy fur. Its funny grin pleased him. Yet hadn’t there been something else? An almost instinctive feeling of disgust that had come and gone almost before he was aware of it?

Reread this in preparation for the movie which I am seeing this coming weekend. Disregarding the fact that this is effectively insignificant, it is really boring as far as King goes. It is exactly what you are expecting from the second it starts, sometimes dramatic and decently well written, but still nothing more than a story of a cymbal monkey killing your family. I wonder if Osgood Perkins can turn it into anything worth seeing.

I listened to it in preparation for the upcoming movie.

4,4⭐️realmente pense que le iba a pasar algo al hermano de petey, como nada apuntaba a el, y creo que si eso hubiera pasado, habria sido increible. anyway, it was cool

solid 3.5 silly horror story. excited for the movie

That was very Stephen King-y
