I just want to see more of Sydney and Adrian and for Sydney's little sister to get her nose out from where it doesn't belong.
Amazed again. Mead never disappoints. A few twists I saw coming but I was ok with it. I was not ok with that ending though! Come on Sydney!!!!! Ready for the Indigo Spell now!
That was not okay or fair. That was down right cruel. I was smiling like a little kid at christmas, and then five minutes later I wasn't sure if I wanted to cry or eat a tup of pomegranate gelato. Or both.
Other than that this was another excellent installment to the Vampire Academy world, with the introduction of new and old characters. As well as that, the characters have continued to grow, change, and explore.
Now its time for some ice cream and ON TO THE NEXT ONE!

After re-reading still absolutely love it. Completely engaging story and characters and probably my favorite book in the series.
I loved this book. I like how Sydney is the one in charge and how she takes care of all of them. I hate how Adrian continues to get drunk and how it has an effect on Jill. I like Jill, but I think she really needs to pay attention and stop modeling for Lisa. I hated that people tried to kill Sonya even though she wasn’t Strigoi anymore. I would rate this book five stars.
The Golden Lily, the second book in the Bloodlines series, definitely stepped things up a notch. Richelle Mead knows how to hook readers and that is the case with The Golden Lily. While Bloodlines left me wanting more (not in a good way), The Golden Lily left me wanting more in the best way possible.
The characters in this series are still not quite as awesome as the characters in Vampire Academy. From the very start of the VA series I loved the characters and really connected with them. That hasn’t been the case with the Bloodlines characters. Sydney starts to loosen up a bit in The Golden Lily but not nearly enough for me to really like her. She’s a bit too rigid and set in her ways. Adrian, on the other hand, I definitely love. He’s so funny and outgoing and bold and just plain awesome. I can certainly understand why readers love him so much. Jill is a sweetheart but she doesn’t have much else going for her. I think there’s just not enough about her for me to really connect with her. Same with Eddie although I do feel like readers get to know him more than Jill. As for Angeline, holy crap. That girl is crazy. Her antics cracked me up but I don’t actually care much for her. I’m hoping I connect more with the characters in the following books.
The story takes a bit of time to take off. For the first half of the book I just wasn’t really invested in the story and I wasn’t really all that interested. I wanted more to happen and I just kept having to wait. Also, I felt like I ended up with more questions than I started and none of my previous questions were answered. I know it’s still early in this series but at this point my questions are just starting to pile up. I’m hoping for some answers sometime soon.
Overall, The Golden Lily was a bit better than Bloodlines but my expectations for this series have still not been met. I hope things take off in The Indigo Spell.

sydney and adrian are reminding me how good the forbidden lovers trope is
Wow... wow... wow....
My heart hurts. It hurts for Adrian. The love of my life. Because every stinking time he falls in love it ends badly for him. WHY?!?
But, this was amazing. As usual. Mead did not disappoint. It was action packed and drama filled and held my attention.
Wow, that ending just got me down in the dumps though...

i love this book so much because you finally see adrian’s feelings for sydney! you see them though the way jill talks about sydney and it’s seen pretty much every time adrian and sydney are together! i just love them so much and this book is so good!!
this book is just so good. adrian is my favorite character and getting to see his feelings for sydney seep through slowly is so sweet. i just love the characters and story of these books.
as i read: i love how adrian hates sydney going on a date because he likes her so much. adrian commenting on sydney’s dress and how she’s the most beautiful creature to walk this earth makes me so happy. and just knowing how much he likes her ughhh! and then adrian saying she centers his life i love them! adrian buying the mustang knowing sydney would offer to teach him to drive it is everyhting. jill being infatuated with sydney because adrian is is so funny. i need jill and eddie to stop being dumb and just get together. the ending is so good with him kissing her.
