If the cover shown in Storygraph was the same as the library, i can say with good certainty that I wouldn’t have read this book so that may have affected my rating. But, here we are—it simultaneously had some terrible writing (if I read one more description of full breasts…) but I also kept reading it Idk. Might still read the second book if I get bored. Jury is out. lol.

Loved it! Nuff said.

KMM and the Fever series have changed my previous disinclination to read books within this genre. This was a fantastic read, and I am completely hooked into this series (as luck would have it, the stores around me did not carry it, and my library had all BUT #2 on shelf, so I am waiting not so patiently to get my hands on it and continue this amazing story!).

Mac's way of telling the story is superb. It sometimes drives me nuts (in a good way) that the Mac who is 'telling' us the story knows what is coming, but only gives us the tiniest little glimpses of foreshadowing hints. I want more, but all in good time, right?

I also am in love with Barrons, grumpygills and all. I am still over thinking just what he is, but I am sure that will be revealed at some point.... Also, from the little blurbs I see here and there about the other books in the series, I am interested to see just where their storyline goes. I understand that more characters will be thrown into the mix, but I hope that things don't change too permanently between them (I mean, my gosh after reading KMM's excerpt of JB's POV take on their little 'meeting' from the beginning of the book, how could they not, right? Too much connection going on there, IMO).

I fucking love this series. It's dated and problematic and "I'm not like other girls" filled, but, my stars, JERICHO BARRENS. Plunder me pls.

There were interesting aspects to the novel, but the main character is just horrible and the story is kind of just there - nothing really becomes of it. The writing comes off as extremely pretentious and belittling while repeating itself over and over again.

So I finished the series and instead of commenting on it as a whole on the last book's review I figured I'd put it here. First off, the series should have been a trilogy. If scenes weren't repeated over and over again and sex weren't such a huge part of this, it could have been shorted by two books. Secondly, the plot isn't focused on enough. It could have been a lot deeper, but instead we had to read about Mac's trust issues the entire time, who she thought was hot, and than either sex or almost sex. Lastly, the series tries to convince you that rape is just fine and dandy. If that's not disgusting, I don't know what is. The sad thing is, there will probably be a lot of people that don't even realize what kind of message that particular part of the book sends. =\

This book is a action-packed, mindless read and that is it. I wouldn't say that it is fun because a lot of horrific things happen in this book. The characters are hard to like, especially the guy who is suppose to be Mac's love interest. However, I am interested enough in this story to continue reading!
