As with many stories from the Sandman universe, I'm not sure i understood everything, but I thought it was beautiful.

This was long, and I really, really hated the Judge Gallows character/story, which almost made me quit halfway through. I'm really on the fence about whether or not I want to continue. I am intrigued by the conclusion of this volume, and I enjoy these characters.

It was a bit slow at the beginning, and the ending was pretty strange, but I really really liked it

So pretty! So imaginative! So heartbreakingly DREAMING. I adored this and Dora is the awesomest.

Being a fan of the OG Sandman, I was, obviously, very excited, though also somewhat nervous, when I heard that they were going to re-enter the world and tell a story about Daniel's Dreaming... so, perhaps one of my biggest issues with this series is how little Daniel is actually in it.

That said, this Volume is mostly set-up for what's happening: Daniel has buggered off from the Dreaming for reasons unknown, and the Dreaming is falling apart. There is a new denizen, Dora, who seems important, but whom we know nothing about - and she, herself, doesn't know who she is, either. There's a weird box thing growing, and Merv decides to release an old Nightmare to bring Order. Of course, Chaos ensues.

We see a lot of the familiar faces - Lucien and Matthew, Cain and Abel - and brief mentions of Dream both past and present.

This Volumes opens a lot of questions, and I was definitely curious to keep reading to find out what was happening at the end, but I found it surprisingly hard to get through. Not much actually *happens* in this installment. It's all set-up, but in a way that tries to be vague and mysterious - making you curious, but also somewhat unsatisfying in its own right.

Also, the artwork by Bilquis Evely is downright gorgeous.

The artwork was lovely but I'm not exactly sure how I feel about the story just yet

Dark and chaotic filled with surrealism.

4.5 star rating, I didn't enjoy this quite as much as I did The Books of Magic. I'm not sure, but it was missing a certain essence to it, so it didn't get the full 5 stars. But I did still enjoy the world that has been created with it's nods to both biblical and historical figures, twisted into the world of Dream.

The art was awesome. There were some truly spectacular panels. It was so good to be back in the Dreaming with many familiar characters and I quite liked the stories and where this series is going, but I do have to say I missed Morpheus and Gaiman's touch.
