A devastatingly, beautiful tale of growing up as an immigrant or a child of an immigrant(s) in a western world.

The book was written in verse and I’m not too versed In verse, but I thought it was lovely and only added a breathtakingly tragic aura to the story.

There was a moment that is the climax of the book that I didn’t particularly find interesting and at a certain point was becoming tired of it, which says a lot as the book itself is already short. Other than that, overall I thought it was a great, relatable read.

I’m not sure what I expected this book to be, but it wasn’t this. This was filled with deep emotion and enchanting prose. It was well written and kept me coming back for more. I enjoyed the growth of Nima. There were some confusing parts where I wasn’t sure what was going on.
