So good! This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. Action packed from the first page until the last sentence. I love how the characters developed and their relationships changed. Callum stepped up to bat when he was faced with the challenge, and Wren was able to look into the eyes of someone evil and spare their life. No one would've seen that coming in book one.
I can't say enough good things about this series. If you love strong female roles then Wren is your gal. Brava, Amy Tintera!

I liked it I thought it was really cute and I didn't really have any problems with it! There were some cute and funny moments and I don't know what it is about this series but I can't put these books down! I liked seeing both Wren and Callum's narrating I thought it was cute and all in all I really enjoyed this book!

Really enjoyed it but it just wasn't quite as good as the first one.

Oh damn this book was good. While I enjoyed the first a bit more, this one did not disappoint. I was thinking that the whole story line would be super predictable but I was so wrong! It was fast paced, it had me laughing, it had me crying. I absolutely love Wren and Callum. My only complaint is that we don't get more of this story!

It's been a while since I read Reboot - the first book in the series - but it didn't take long for me to settle back into the world Ms. Tintera built.
This is such a compelling read! I read it all in one shot in 3 hours! The action and mystery keep you reading right up until the last page. Sometimes, everything was happening a bit too fast I got a little confused though. I had to read one of the battle scenes a couple times before I got the gist.
The characters were all amazing - I especially loved Micah as the villain figure. A lot of villains are insane or just power-hungry. Micah was actually logical which made him that much better. I could see where his logic was coming from even if I didn't agree with it.
Wren was fantastic as well. Her growth throughout the book concerning her morals and how she feels about what she's done was incredible. And the same with Callum. It really showed the healing process. Going along with that, I really liked the relationship between the Reboots and humans. It was a good relationship but it was realistic. The humans did have a change of heart rather quickly but all in all, their interactions were spot on.
Finally, I really liked the ending. It was hopeful, but not a fairy tale ending.
Final Verdict:
A very compelling read with fantastic characters - both heroes and villains! Sometime's it got a bit confusing and seemed rushed but all in all, the plot was pretty well configured.

“You could've at least let me know you weren't dead by the way. I was actually kind of sad about that."
"That's a pretty incredible sentiment, coming from you.”
“I still have the scars from when they captured me and beat me in the middle of the street."
"You don't get scars."
"Emotional scars then.”
“I sort of liked the sound of bones breaking. It was like home.”
“Only for a minute. I'll be right back." He plopped the baby in her lap and hopped to his feet. Wren held her at arm's length and frowned. She did not appreciate that, because she immediately began wailing.
"Here," Wren said, thrusting her in my direction. "Take the mutant baby.”
“Her smile faded to a more serious expression. "Is everything okay? With Callum?"
"Fine," I said, taking a bite of meat and avoiding her eyes.
"He's crazy about you, you know," she said softly, like I hadn't just told her things were fine. "I see other girls looking at him sometimes, and he doesn't even notice. He only sees you.”
"How... how long was I...?"
"It doesn't matter," I said. "You're awake now."

What I don't like about Reboot is the romance. What I mean is that it almost engulfed the plot and it was everywhere in the middle of the book. Though, I found it cute, it is still not okay to me. In this sequel, Rebel, the romance was just enough for me. It didn't affect or sweep away the main plot fortunately.
Rebel, matter-of-factly speaking, is really an enthralling read. It was action-packed, dark, full of tension that allure me to read, read and read. Even there's an element in the book that is kinda unoriginal, I don't care because Amy Tintera has her own way to do the trick. I love how she managed to deliver in an engrossing way an overused element. There are twists, of course, and facts that were truly shocking, and new characters to love and to hate immensely. There are conflicts, interesting conflicts, that made the story more alive. And besides, Rebel also portrayed an exquisite idea of unity, equality and trust that difference or individuality will not be a hindrance to promote these traits.

The rebels seemed to have got their way easily... Basically there was no war which should've been the highlight... And the initial twist in the plot was very much predictable because nothing gets too well too easily but the twist itself was a small surprise... The book itself was small and things got over too quick... But the overall story ended okay...

I feel like this book really changed the game for YA dystopia, if only it were more common. I really admired how Wren didn't want to be the leader of the rebellion for the Reboots. She didn't need to struggle to lead when she was already struggling with her own morality; women don't need to do everything to be deserving (to live, in this case). With other YA dystopias like The Hunger Games and Matched, the female protagonists play a vitally important role to advancing the rebellion against the totalitarian government, and here Wren is more like a general leading an army. Callum had to step up to lead because he knew that he wanted to help and save people, human and Reboot alike. Also points for a healthy af relationship and no love triangle! I also love how the author doesn't shy away from the topic of sex, which a LOT of YA books do (nothing explicit though). I was really proud of both Wren and Callum's growth in this book and the ending felt fitting for both characters. I also liked how the villain, Micah, was somewhat sympathetic and understandable while still being the antagonist and also an asshole. When he "dropped" her I wanted to punch his smug little face and I'm happy with the ending he got. Overall, a really great sequel with some great character development.

Amé la decisión que tomó la autora de empezar a escribir un capítulo ella y un capítulo el, nos dejaba ver ambas partes, lo que sentían y pudimos conocer mucho mejor a Callum, definitivamente me gustó mucho.

after years of postponing reading this sequel, i'm glad i picked it up and gave it a chance— this was a very light & fun read, i enjoyed it quite a lot. definitely don't go expecting a dark book or story, this is best suited for YA readers!
