Finally got some answers! Called some of it, didn’t call others.
Rushed ending “big bad level” moment/s but ending was really satisfying.
Characters were put through the ringer.
I didn’t mind where we went and ended up.
From a prison escape book, to a strategise overthrowing the throne book, to finally a quest book this series was really great and I’m almost sad to say goodbye to the characters.

This book was great!! A high stakes quest w some awesome characters, sign me up. I loved the development of the characters in this book, and the found family hit so hard. I also nearly cried at several parts just bc of the powerful messages about hope and perseverance in here.
I think the twists in this book were not as surprising as book 2, and the ending felt a little bit rushed to me which is a shame. But regardless of that, I still had a great time and basically binged it in a day.
Gotta go find some fanfic bc I didn’t get the ending content I was hoping for haha.

Overall, the book was fine. The series felt so rushed and this last book suffered because of it. WAY too much happened in the last few chapters of the book that felt like there was room to flesh out each conflict in a 4th. Once again, every "twist" was too easy to predict. At no point was I truly shocked by a reveal or an action of a character. The side characters were more interesting than our protagonist, who still suffers from crippling naivety.
Kiva has spent 10+ years in prison and she is still so trusting, which can be endearing for a little bit but the red flags for almost every character are so glaring. It was so frustrating watching her fall victim to something so obvious for the 3rd book in a row.
Probably great for those looking to get back into reading, but for me, it was a miss.
