Cheeky King picks up right where Cheeky Royal leaves off.

King Cassius is dead. Long live King Sebastian.

The moment the Royal Guard infiltrate Sebastian's life in New York informing him of his father's death the life he knew changes. No longer is he able to live a carefree, wild life, running from his duties, loving the woman he chooses. Instead he now has to return home where duty, rules, and tradition are waiting for him, no matter that he returns with a broken heart.

"In the span of moments, I'd lost my father, my love, and my dream."

Penny is devastated to learn of the King's death, but even more so to leave Sebastian with the false pretenses she'd been living under festering open between them as they were both shuffled away separately upon hearing the news. Now back from New York everything is a mess. She can feel Sebastian's pain and anger everytime he looks at her and she's in a position where she can do nothing to ease his suffering. Torn in two over the man she left in New York and the King who seems to hate her, Penny may finally give up her familial obligation and pursue her own dreams before Sebastian finally kills what feelings are left between them.

"The cocky king was in full form. There was no hint of my Sebastian."

The love/hate relationship between Penny and Sebastian is intense in Cheeky King. After the sizzling chemistry that built and built in Cheeky Royal their emotions are now raw and you feel deeply for both parties.

Sebastian is now a king and with this obligation comes deeply rooted traditions and the weight of his people's expectations fall heavy on his shoulders. Sadly one of those traditions is for the king to marry another royal which royally pisses him off. Here he knows the traditions and he went and fell in love with Penny anyway. He knows he can't have her, but it doesn't stop him from wanting her.

Penny grew up on the island and knows that she can never really have Sebastian, but she can't immediately turn off her feelings, she still loves him. When Sebastian doesn't make doing her job easy on her, she becomes horribly confused. She wants to do the right thing, but loving someone you can't be close to is almost impossible.

Cheeky King is a book you will find hard to put down. The emotions run so high that you have to turn the page to find out what happens next.

If you haven't picked up the first two books in the series yet, please do. Cheeky King is the last in the Royals Undercover series. Cheeky Prince is currently free, get it while you can.

The final book to the series. I thought the last book was full of action, suspense, and intrigue, but this one was truly amped up.

This book has Sebastian and Penny at odds. There are still secrets to be revealed, mysteries to be resolved, questions to be answered, and scoundrels to be dealt with in a royal manner.

The two things that really bothered me was that Sebastian was a consistent a$$ for a while, and Penny kept refusing to communicate with people. Thank goodness for Ariel, Roone, and Lucas. I wonder if they will each ends up with their own book.

The pace is fast, the loose ends are tied up, and the HEA is pretty awesome.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Cheeky King is the second part finale in Nana Malone’s Cheney series. This is the conclusion of Penny and Sebastian’s story. The story also deals with the consequences surrounding Sebastian becoming king and also what happened to Sebastian’s dad. The supporting cast in this story made it even better..I absolutely adore Sebastian’s brother. The road to happiness for Penny and Sebastian was very rocky..I actually wish it went a bit smoother and I had to read the book in one sitting because I couldn’t wait to see what was happening! This was a great conclusion and I would like to see more about Sebastian and Penny. Another fantastic series from Nana Malone..she never disappoints!

[SPOILER]

I loved everything about this except the proposal was VERY rushed after everything we readers had been through with these characters. I wanted to linger in the night at the art gallery and the romance of Sebastian proposing....

After reading Cheeky Royal I wondered how I would feel reading this finale but I didn't need to worry. Yes, there is bad feelings between Sebastian & Penny & while I did find that it just seemed to go on for too long in that vein, this story provides a satisfying conclusion to their story. I continue to love the stories that this author is putting out & I can't see that changing any time soon

Sebastian’s world has just been rocked with the news that his father has passed away making him King Consort. As well as the news that Penny knew who he was all along. Feeling lied and betrayed he focuses on getting home, supporting his mother and learning how to become King.

Returning to the Winston Isles and her role as a Royal Guard Penny is unsure about the whispers that she is hearing from others. Do they know about her and Sebastian? Did Robert (her ex) tell everyone? Attempting to navigate her position is made harder by Sebastian who is still angry with her and toying with her emotions blowing hot and cold. Feeling as though she’s better to leave and pursue her painting she heads to the palace to say goodbye, however, Prince Ashton grabs her and attempts to abuse her.

Fleeing to New York she hopes that painting will bring her the joy she usually feels from it. Staying with Lucas she hides from Sebastian until he appears on the doorstep hoping to win her back. But are they able to move on from everything that has happened? Has the threat to Sebastian’s life gone?

Sebastian is now King, he knows Penny lied to him and feels betrayed by this but you know he lied too! Good lord these 2 have it bad for each other but will they actually sit down and talk about oh no!! On top of this he has the vote his Farther was trying to pass still hanging in the balance and things are not as they appear to be within the Kingdom. Plenty of twist, surprises and sexual tension keep things moving along. It was great to see more of Sebastian's brother as well as see what he is rally like when not hiding out. I just felt soo bad for Penny with how things are going in life for her, their Mums though are freaking the best ever!

The second book in the Royals Undercover series picks up with Sebastian stepping into the role of the King and Penny falling back into her role as a royal guard. This half of their story has a bit of angst, some anger, and eventually some really spicy scenes all wrapped around a plot to take down the king. With the addition of a touch of palace intrigue, this story was over before I knew it. I couldn’t put it down and just enjoyed listening for most of the day!

Back on the Island, Sebastian has stepped into the role of the King while mourning the death of his father. Penny comes back to work not as the struggling guard, but as a hero for saving the King twice while they were both in New York City. Both struggle with the changes in their lives, while Sebastian also harbors hurt feelings about Penny lying to him about being a royal guard. His attitude comes out in full force and though they try to stay away from each other, their feelings are too strong to be ignored.

Cheeky King was just how I wanted this story to end with excellent narration once again from Andi Ardnt and Shane East. While I thought Cheeky Royal was a cute and light read, Cheeky King added in more angst, action, and plot, which made the story fly by. I couldn’t put it down. The shifting dynamic between Penny and Sebastian was interesting, their spicy scenes were hot, and the plot against the crown surprised me in the end! I love a book that surprises me! I can’t wait to continue reading this series. Nana Malone has definitely put herself on my must read list!
