The book, for me, is really AMAZING !! It really defines the definition "human" in the very different way than normal view of us. The book covers a wide range of topics, from Cognitive Revolution, the commencement of Agriculture to the purpose of Science and the idea of Happiness, which are written chronically. Don't matter if you are sociologists, natural scientist, or just high school students, the book will definitely bring you interesting experiences.

I'm feeling quite lost for words upon finishing this, because I don't know how to describe it without using cheesy phrases like 'a must-read' or 'mind-blowing'. It's really comprehensive, well-written and thought-provoking. The subject matter is deep and covers so much but it never feels heavy or dry. It was both eye-opening and very enjoyable to read, and I highly recommend it.

I think this book is fantastic for curious readers. As noted by some of the other reviews, this book may feel too oversimplified for history buffs, but for someone like me, who is intrigued by history but doesn't actively seek it out, Sapiens is engaging and accessible. The pacing is quick enough that I struggled to tear myself away from the book, and the addition of color photos is a nice touch. Harari moves across a broad spectrum of time (from the evolution of the genus Homo to the development of genetically modified organisms) and ideas, with particular emphasis on the wide-reaching historical implications of capitalism and imperialism, as well as our shifting relationships with the natural world and with each other. Before I began reading, I was somewhat daunted by the sheer heft of this book - the hardcover version is a pain when lying in bed - but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy (and interesting!) it is to read. The subtitle is "A Brief History of Humankind," and Harari gives the readers just that. I highly recommend reading this book.
