I dunno, with a sub-title of "A Brief History of Humankind" I was hoping for something more like history, than, say, speculation, opinion, and trivia.

Some of the trivia was kinda cool but not enough to make up for badly the rest of the book was written.

Well, all the good things that have been already said about this book are true. I specially enjoyed the last part where Yuval stitches everything together and talks about happiness.

Read about a quarter of this, then skimmed another quarter. Then it was due back at the library and I decided I was okay with that.

While I liked the breakdown of time and how people have evolved socially, the writing was a weird mix of dense and light. Probably a great read for someone really interested in this subject matter.

And because I like an opportunity to quote Marcel the Shell: brief? “Compared to what!?”
