Jo, tak tohle mně bavilo. Sice je to náročnější čtení, plné cizích slov, a latinských slov, ale mně to fakt bavilo. Hrozně mi to připomínalo film Andělé a Démoni s Tomem Hanksem, na motivy knihy od Dana Browna. Celá kniha se točí kolem papežské konkláve po tom, co papež zemře a kardinálové musejí zvolit nového. Kniha nás provází celým postupem příprav na konkláve, veškerými obřadnostmi a povinnostmi.

Je to pomalé čtení, plné latinských a cizích výrazů, a hlavně politiky, takže to nebude pro každého. Co mně hodně bavilo, byla detektivní zápletka, která se rozvíjela tiše na pozadí. Sice jsem měla takové lehké tušení, jak kniha skončí, kdo bude nakonec zvolen papežem, ale i tak mě ten konec naprosto překvapil.

Moc mě bavily popisy míst kolem Vatikánu, protože jsem jenom pár týdnů zpět po těchto místech sama chodila (samozřejmě ne po všech, nebyla jsem v Sixtinské kapli atd, ale chodila jsem po náměstí Vatikánu a uličkami, byla jsem u Andělského hradu atd.)

I’m a reader after watching the film, and even knowing the plot, I found the internal and external conflict so engrossing. The belief of faith in spite of doubt is such a fundamental concept, and its’ depiction here has changed my perspective in my own life.
