This book was amazing. I’ve loved this series so much, and been so impressed with how much Tove Jansson can fit into children’s books. Moominpappa at Sea showed the characters ageing in an honest but sentimental way. It’s added such an interesting perspective to the world I already adored.

I think I read this at exactly the wrong time, and found myself enraged by how everyone was treating each other, rather than moved by its melancholy and relatability as usual. Will attempt again later.
