I’m not sure when I last jumped on a sequel this fast?? This was amazing and some of the best shit I’ve ever read but I’m so tired of this damn angst! Can’t wait to read the rest of this story because right now I am broken

I am so mad at Cassandra Clare for the big cliffhanger! Now, I will have to wait for a whole year to read the third book. At the same time, I am incredibly happy at how much she focused on both Lucie and Cordelia. Every time, I read Chain of Gold or Chain of Iron, I long for friends who are as Caring as James, fun as Matthew, supportive as Lucie, kind as Thomas, brave as Cordelia, awkward as Christopher, perceptive as Anna. The characters are so genuine and heartfelt and broken. Such a beautiful sequel. I think The Last Hours trilogy is going to be my second most favourite series of her after The Infernal Devices. The cover is absolutely gorgeous. The writing broke my heart over and over again. I would have loved to see a little bit more of Matthew but no complaints! Until then, I guess I will just dream of Paris.

I have very mixed feelings about where the story is heading. I firmly believe that the love triangle is very unnecessary and Cassandra Clare could have come up with something more creative instead of trying to copy the Infernal Devices. NOTHING can replace the Infernal Devices, thank you very much! The plot is great, but let's be honest, no one is reading those books for the plot.(and that's not necessary a bad thing) We are all reading them for the realistic characters that we can't help but love and relate to. Overall, i gave it 5 stars because of how much these characters and this world mean to me.

My poor baby James! He deserves the world and i hope CC will eventually give it to him. I feel like until the very end of this book i hadn't truly realized how much control the chain had on him, not only at the romance department, but also how much it was affecting his every day life. His mind was so clouded by that bracelet that he couldn't reach out to Matthew, his parabatai, when he needed him the most, and as a result Matthew's drinking addiction got worse. I spent the whole book blaming James for being blind and not seeing what's right in front of him, when in reality it wasn't his fault. He is the victim here. I wish luck was on his side so he could have explained everything to Cordelia in time.

Cordelia went through so much in this book!!! She had to marry the boy she loves, while knowing that he is in fact in-love with someone else. Her father died right after she found out about his true colors. She had to deal with the consequences of stabbing a greater demon with Cortana, and like that wasn't enough, that greater demon happened to be her husband's grandfather. Wonderful times, right? And of course, the cherry on top, she thought that she became Wylan the Smith's paladin, when she actually became Lilith's paladin. Needless to say that took a toll on her self confidence. But i mean, nothing that a trip to Paris with Matthew can't solve, right?

Matthew, oh sweet, Matthew. I was worried about him throughout the whole book! I feel like he initially fell in love with Cordelia because she was the only one who addressed his addiction and that if someone else had helped him before, things would had evolved very differently. Oh well we can't do anything about that now. I'm just devastated because i know at the end of the series someone will have his heart broken and it's most likely going to be Matthew. I need him to forgive himself so much so that he can finally be free of his own mental hell.

From my point of view, the trip to Paris will benefit Cordelia and Matthew, both mentally and physically, due to Cordelia's condition and their parallels. (Both blaming themselves for something that wasn't really their fault, as well as both being in-love with someone who does not love them back.(not true in Cordelia's case but unfortunately she is not aware of it))

Ladies and Gentlemen, i present you my favourite character Lucie Herondale! I love Lucie with every fiber of my being, but i'm terrified about the consequences of her actions. She is playing with fire and i am afraid she's going to get burned. She has grown so much since the first book and i hope she can also have the happy ending she deserves.

The fact that if it wasn't for Grace's lousy mouth and Lucie's persistent personality, the entire TDA plot would have never exited, truly baffles me.

Something that you need to know about me is that i am Lucie & Jesse's No.1 fan!!! If they somehow not end up together i'll riot!!! I need them together and happy(the same goes for all the couples in the series of course). They're soulmates and no one can change my mind.

Grace's storyline was very intriguing and definitely leads you to realize that nothing in life is black or white. Like, from the very beginning the only thing that Grace ever cared about was Jesse, and she was willing to do or sacrifice anything to bring him back. Yes she controlled James half his life, and basically took away his free will, BUT she was brought up by vicious Tatiana, so no one is surprised she turned out that way. Still i don't know how to feel about her.

Thomas & Alastair have my entire heart! Alastair definitely grew on me a lot more in this book and i love how he is trying to atone for his past mistakes. I think about their time at the Sanctuary constantly! Anna & Ariadne are the only couple that has the most chances of actually having a happy ending! I love how persistent Ariadne is on winning Anna's heart back and i understand that Anna is just too afraid to have her heart broken again.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series and cry!
