I really liked her writing style. She has a way of giving a lot of detail in few words. The first half of the book was the best, after that it got repetitive. Overall, a good classic and shoutout to her for being a badass and pursuing writing during a time when that was not acceptable for woman.

so i really love the plot and themes of it all. struggling with what you owe other people, the duty you have to things you create, what is means to be a human who deserves sympathy are all super interesting things to explore. it just got so long-winded at times because, as a framed narrative, the characters get to interject during action scenes and it got to a point where i was thinking that it felt repetitive. there’s only so many “i’m a victim!!!”s a girl can take

Truly a new favorite. The voice of the monster really touched my heart. I felt his longing and his rage. It brought so many philosophical questions to the front without shoving them down your throat. I listened on audio and highly recommend!!!!
