Light fare but a very nice story. Gwen is pregnant after one night with a handsome veteran and at his funeral (yes, sadly) she meets his mother and his arrogant brother. They are from a very rich family and Carter (the brother) decides immediately that Gwen is a gold digger.
Ofcourse she is not and she even helps his father (who has had a stroke) to recover and assists in designing a special shoe for veterans. Carter falls in love, but remains suspicious. He has had a disastrous marriage to a gold digger, so that is not really very strange. Plus the child Gwen is carrying will inherit 1/3 of his business.
Liked it, read it fast. I liked the epilogue but wished for more about the pregnancy and birth.

This book just wasn't for me I only got a third of the way through the book before I gave up and put it down. I am not exactly sure why I did not like it because it is the sort of story I usually enjoy, maybe I was just not in the mood. But, for whatever reason I did not like it.

A nice easy read.
In the midst of all the surprise baby books I love to find books like this that have a heroine up front and honest.
Gwen is extremely honest and wants to help people. Her job as a physical therapist at Walter Reed proves that. Carter has been burned by a greedy ex-wife and it shades all relationships. The few things Gwen drew out his shell were very intriguing and I wish there was more time devoted to "nice" Carter.
I will definitely check this author out again.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.
