The best use of “Get away from her, you bitch!” since the original.

Stross can't write a bad or boring book: this one is excellent and gripping.
Great storytelling and world building, excellent character development.
As it's the second in a series it's better read them in order.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Entertaining, and definitely got stronger towards the end.

The Laundry Series is always my favorite weird fiction read, and is always extremely difficult to explain to anyone.
It’s a nice blend of detective work, Lovecraftian horror, British humor, weaving multiple storylines together over time, world-building, and poking fun at bureaucracy.
Sometimes with a dash of politics.
It’s not for everyone, but it is definitely for me. I’m really looking forward to the next installment.
