Book 55 for 2025! 4.5/5 stars for this thriller read. Multi POV. Rich family drama, secrets, scandals. Highly recommend!

I quite enjoyed this murder thriller. It was great getting to hear both Georgie and Mandy’s perspective as the plot progressed. I will say that Georgia’s storyline felt confused at points with
the Josh character. I couldn’t really understand how he played into the plot or why he was even part of it. It felt like a way to add tension but without purpose.
Even though I guessed the ending, the story still kept me intrigued to finish.

This started off with a bang and did not let up! Pekkanen is an auto-read author for me so I went into this blind. Once again, she layers the mystery so well while developing strongly written characters. Told in two POVs, you get to see two women working to get Georgina out of the locked ward. Georgina’s POV is told in second person and it worked so well when coupled with her mental state. I did the audio for this since it was narrated by the fantastic January LaVoy and I highly recommend that format!

DID NOT FINISH

Call me old fashioned but I believe in getting to know the characters for a little longer than half a page and five seconds of their morning routine before slapping us with huge revelations. Those revelations don’t actually mean anything if we don’t know these people. Womp womp.
