Volume two feels a bit like more of the same from volume one. A nemesis is set up in a rival high school manga creator and his editor and the romances of the two main characters are further developed, if you can even call it that between Mashiro and Azuki. The boys experience more success in volume two but Mashiro reaches ever higher.

I'm enjoying the story, though it moved quite slow in this volume. For someone brand new to manga it's interesting and helpful to read about how it's created and published.

I gave this manga a 3.5 star rating!
Bakuman Volume 2 was such a fun read that I was just able to fly through it and found it difficult to stop, which is strange as, being a slice of life manga with the usual oridinary plot, there was nothing fantastical happening. That's actually one of the greatest aspects of this series~ It's just such a simple plot but it really did captivate me.
The main characters, Mashiro and Takagi, were great and I still enjoyed their lives, even though Mashiro is super crazy with this lovey dovey stuff involving Azuki! In saying that, Miyoshi is the only character that seems to see how stupid that whole aspect is... I mean I get how they don't want to interfere with achieving their dreams but it's so romantacized it's dumb. Anyway, I wish I could accept that I agree with Miyoshi, but she's so bloody annoying!
I liked how the story developed in this volume and felt like a lot was happening, with great pace.
Another great piece from the Death Note creators.

Pick it up, give it ago and enjoy! ^_^
