Más hambre, más miedo y más trabajo. Esto es Afganistán.

I really enjoyed having a sequel to The Breadwinner Trilogy available to me. This particular novel in the series offered an interesting perspective of how so many factors - even the UN troops - affected everyday life as many Afghan people were trying to rebuild their lives and education. And, as is present in all of the previous three books, there is always the hope of Paris!

The writing is engaging and I flew through this book. I liked the way it alternated between past and present, leading up to why Parvana is where she is. I would like to go back and read the previous novels in this series, though I didn't feel lost reading the last book first.

This was my favorite book in the series. It tied everything together so well and packed a punch all its own.
