Fast pace, fun world building. Lots of nods to various media and stories (sleeping beauty briars, Labyrinth pit hands, Elsa-like glove obsession, etc).
I wanted more time spent with the characters and especially their relationships, because they didn’t come across as deep as they could have.

cute little ya fairytale retelling. mfc was too passive for me but likes me enough. writing was good but the pacing seemed too fast. the characters needed more time to marinate their feeling because everything seemed to happen way too fast.

Plot moved too fast yet was uninteresting. Characters were boring. Love triangle was lacking. Got 60% of the way through and sleeping beauty was briefly mentioned twice, doesn’t count as a retelling.

I liked this book. I know the reviews are mixed, but for a fairytale retelling read geared toward younger audiences, I think it fits perfectly. Lacked in the character department, but it was a light enough read to where I am happy I picked it up to begin with.

I’d definitely read again. This was an exceptionally creative retelling of sleeping beauty and a work of art. Well written and well loved.
