Not looking forward to reading this one. I reviewed the other two and didn't like them much.

DNF. I wondered why it took me so long to finish this series and maybe it was just the dry boringness? I finally pick up this last book but I’m giving up at 71% I just don’t care.

Devoured the book in four days,
It’s like seeing a long-lost friend,
But it could have been improved a few ways,
With fewer weapons and a less rushed end.

This was disappointing the main character was left to the side and kept switching points of view to the villains which I had no investment in. So ya it was a bummer.

More of a 2.5 rating

I'm honestly a little torn about this book... I'll start with the good parts, which were the originality and creativity; the world-building is great and the battle scenes well-written. Now for the bad parts: The plot was kind of disjointed and it felt so choppy, every chapter ending in some cliffhanger, moving on to another character's predicament, and then returning to the previous character. There was a lot of room for both plot and character development; I couldn't help but dislike Molly even though the author did his best to make the reader sympathize for her. Out of all the characters, the only one I liked was Hatter--he was the most likable and the most realistic. Finally, the ending was off-putting and slightly too perfect. But then again, Alice in Wonderland is pretty much a fairy tale so maybe it did suit the story.

Fun ending to the series.

I think this was as good an end to the Looking Glass Wars as I could have hoped for. It was certainly the one I was expecting, so it was nice to see myself not disappointed, in a way. It had been a while since I had read Seeing Redd, so I was a bit thrown off by some of what was said and what was happening, but that was more my fault than the story's. Beddor clearly dedicated himself to the characters and their world and stuck to it, making the rather clear assumption that you would know what was going on, if due only to having read the prequels.

This is a young adult book, and it is impossible to forget it as you go along. The chapters are short, the dialogue and descriptions are relatively short and clear, and occasionally something in phrased in an eye rolling sort of way. But, ultimately, it was still an enjoyable story (although in all honesty, there are a few things I would have liked to have seen fleshed out a bit more - a few scenes here and there felt too abrupt, like Beddor wanted to just get on with it, and they didn't do the characters justice).

If you've read the first too books and enjoyed them, I suspect you'll enjoy this one too. Your kids might even enjoy them more.
