Pamala Zagarenski will always be a favorite, and this book may be my favorite of all. It doesn’t get any better than little girls imagining big stories filled with wondrous characters and beautiful words.

I wasn't a huge fan of the art style personally but I did think this would make for an excellent book for creative young readers. It offers the chance to make up your own stories based on the illustrations and imagination is awesome! I would definitely appreciate this more reading with a kiddo.

I understand the premise behind this one....the story lies within you....but this just fell flat for me. The pictures, however, are beautiful.

This is a lovely book and would be great for use in a discussion about wordless picture books. The little girl in the story must imagine the stories to go with the illustrated book she is reading.

Read through this very quickly, but I believe I will pick this up as a gift for friends. Great for inspiring children to use their imaginations and use it in writing stories!

The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and I liked the reimagined/new imagined stories. The rest of it felt a bit too wordy. It's a book I'd love to share with kids though I'm not sure if the story that surrounds the "stories" would be too much for them.

A bit reminiscent of [b:The Mysteries of Harris Burdick|55734|The Mysteries of Harris Burdick|Chris Van Allsburg|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1386924623s/55734.jpg|489077] in that a character responds to pictures as story-starters. The pictures are beautiful and a bit mysterious, and there is a lot here to reward the careful reader (and listener): recurring elements, tiny details, a clever fox. It is a bit difficult to share with a large group, since some of the most interesting details are quite small.

This would be a fantastic start to some creative writing.

Gorgeous illustrations and a fascinating way to encourage imagination -- the young girl is sent home with a magical book that's lost all its words...so she has to come up with the stories. But each one is just the beginning, so kids can continue the mini stories themselves.
