This book, actually the whole series has been amazing!! I have loved being in this world and watching these people fall in love. Until August features two characters who are both trying to find themselves again after events that have happened in the past.

This book is about second chances- especially ones about finding love after loss. This is a book about finding yourself and becoming yourself again It’s heartwarming, healing, angst, emotional. I loved it all. Finding your true love or maybe multiple true loves in a lifetime.

I wanted to end this series with a bang but I just couldn’t get into this one as much as the last two

What an emotional ride. I enjoyed this book a lot. The chemistry between Nicola and August was perfect and torturous (as by design). I liked that neither of them really denied their feelings in the usual carbon-copy romance book way. They had valid reasons for not being together and trying to endure their separate hardships but they didn't sit in denial about how they truly felt for each other.

Overall: 4.0/5 - It was painful but healing. I enjoyed the characters and, of course, the HEA.

Do you know when you read something so good… that it almost feels euphoric… you are high on life because you feel every emotion so deeply… the words just touch you and take you away to another place. This is how Until August makes me feel…..

I’m glad I went into this book with an open mind. No preconceived notions on how I wanted it to end, and how I expected this story to go. I was hooked by the first word, and until the very last. The writing is so captivating, and thought provoking. It deals with loss, heartbreak, but learning that who you once were isn’t who you are now, that you change and grow, and it’s okay to find happiness again. Nicola may be one of the most relatable heroines to me, I understand the feelings she felt of feeling guilty being happy, under certain circumstances. She was such a raw and real character, she wasn’t perfect she struggles, and learn. She’s one of the most beautifully selfless characters I’ve been able to read about, and she’s definitely becoming a top favorite.

I don’t necessarily want to go too in depth on the hero, because I do think it benefitted me going into this one blindly, so my review wont mention the hero by name. But the hero, was exactly what the heroine needed at the moment they needed them, they helped her grow, while she helped him grow in return. They each lifted the other up, they understood each other in ways they no one else ever could and ever had before. Their love was undeniable, it’s the type of love that you feel in your bones. This story is honestly able to achieve what few stories ever have (for me). It’s a story that takes you away to a new place, and makes you forget about life’s burdens for a while. My whole heart was in this story while reading, when the characters cried I cried, when they loved I loved. It’s Simply stunning.

The author does touch on subjects that you don’t see touched on often, if ever. It’s not only written extremely well, especially since it it’s pretty sensitive material for many. But the way it’s written with extreme care and as if every word was thought out. It’s definitely a unique story, that I honestly couldn’t compare to anything else.

Yes the story had me feeling everything, but the world the author has created added just as much yo the story, you can picture every scene so vividly. The story takes place in a town called Costa Del Ray, which is set in California. The vibe of the city just heightens the overall experience. This is a world that if you have read this author, you have visited before, and it was honestly like coming home to familiar friends. I really hope we get more from the love and chaos world.

Until August, is one of the most beautiful journeys I have ever gone on, it reminded me why I love romance so much, it’s the definition of what I look for anytime I start a book. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful with characters that you feel like you know on a personal level. I definitely recommend this story, because you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading it.

P.s
Don’t worry the author will put your pieces back together, and you will feel whole again. You may just go through a few boxes of tissue in the process.

Cringey chef romance with just so much cringe that it was honestly hard to read. I wish there was like some warning before I read it. This was just so bad. Like please save yourself the time and just don’t.

This was Nicola and August’s story. It was beautiful and heartbreaking and wonderful all at once. It was also different from other love stories I’ve read. The characters and the settings were so meticulousness described that I felt like I was there witnessing everything. I really enjoyed this story and want more of this couple and the other characters as well!

“What fools we mere mortals were to fall in love.”

My first 5 star review if 2023, and how perfect it is. UNTIL AUGUST kept me entranced from page one. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried… a lot. I had to remind myself at times that Emory Rose created this world and they aren’t real people, these aren’t my friends all struggling with the pressures of the hand they’ve each been dealt.

Every chapter, every moment, builds onto the next so beautifully in this book. Nicola, our FMC, is so wonderful and in so much pain, a reader can’t help but wish for a simpler life for this poor woman! She’s brought back to life by our MMC, which I don’t think it’s giving away if I say it’s August based on the synopsis. August is struggling to find his way in a world that seemingly moved in without. He harbors a lot of anger and we get to see him work through his emotions with the help of Nic.

The issue however is what happens when the epic love of your past and the epic love of your present collide? We are left to deal with the emotional turmoil and tendrils of hope, that I found myself clinging onto every page.

This book felt mature, with a wonderful story of people essentially lost in the world. It still had a great amount of spice to keep us romance girls happy but it went so much deeper than that. I truly loved these characters. Oh and I LOVED the cameos of characters from past books. It acted as a reminder to not only the main characters here but to the readers that you’re never really alone and that your friends and family are there to help you up when you fall down.

Overall, phenomenal story. These characters felt so special to me. I am so happy my book club chose this to discuss (on my birthday) next month, and I’m SO happy I didn’t wait another month to read it!

must read

An emotional roller coaster that had me at the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was to come. First reading about Nicola and Cruz in Sweet Chaos, I fell instantly in love with them. The connection was undeniable and their love was simple and genuine. I couldn’t think of how anything could tear them apart. When I started reading this story, I was in complete shock and heartbroken for Nicola. I could fell her heart shattering and her soul lost and slowly losing pieces of herself.

August was definitely a surprise. His childhood was nothing short of devastation after devastation. He pulled himself out of the cycle he could have went down and made something of himself. But all of that need to prove himself and keep pushing for something more ultimately backfired and he paid the price by losing the ones he loved.

Together, Nic and August were pure fire and had amazing chemistry. But the timing was always off. Trying to get back the life they both lost and put themselves back together was harder than they thought. Unable to deny what they both know wasn’t a good idea, they dived in headfirst.

To be lucky to not only have one love, but two, is something not to take for granted. The fight to be there for the ones you love, realize when you’re being selfish, put others happiness above your own, fallow through on your promises, and learning to love yourself again, shows how much they really mean to you. The effort and dedication to show up and keep your word, means more the material things. The power of having your people, the ones who understand, know what you need, are there for you at your lowest and highest, are ones never to lose.

“Wait. August. How did you remember that?” I called after him. I couldn’t see him and didn’t even know if he’d heard me, but I waited for his answer just the same. Finally, moments later, he responded. “You’re not so easy to forget.” Neither are you, August Harper. Neither are you.”

“Sometimes dreams come true. And sometimes, if you have the means, you have to help others make their dreams come true.”

“Why should I trust you?” “Because I’m not a serial killer?” I stared at him for a few seconds, and then I laughed. I needed to have my head examined.”

“Guilt has never changed the outcome of anything,” he said quietly. “Forgive yourself.”

“Nice pep talk.” I slid my sunglasses down my nose and narrowed my eyes at her. “Why are you being the devil on my shoulder?” “Angels don’t have nearly as much fun.”

“I wanted to touch him. Feel his arms around me. Press my lips against his and breathe him in. I wanted to kiss his throat and run my tongue over his Adam’s apple. Why did I find his throat so sexy? It was right up there with his squared jawline and broad shoulders.”

“But God, we were both such a mess. Two people who had lost too much and couldn’t afford to lose more trying to keep each other afloat. It was a disaster waiting to happen. But if we went down, we’d go down together. There was no way I would let him go.”

“I didn’t know if two broken people could heal each other, but her smile made me believe anything was possible.”

“You’re not used to this, are you?” She sounded amused. “Used to what?” “Someone taking care of you,” she said softly. “It’s okay to fall apart sometimes. You don’t always have to be strong and stoic. You don’t always have to be so in control of everything.”

“It’s only five in the morning.” “Rise and shine, Honey Bun.” He was already out of bed and grabbing clothes from the closet, raring to go. I resented morning people.”
