The art for the world is the focal point of the first 1/3, and people are swallowed by these visuals and made small. The main character lacks any relatable charisma to take the reader into the story.
One man on a quest to find his wife amidst a time of fighting with mysterious creatures and a rabid unicorn. Nestled in a ancient Europe setting this series reminds of a cross between Braveheart and Andy Dufrane from Shawshank Redemption.
just...gorgeous. so absolutely my jam that it's almost upsetting. a very compelling web of colourful characters and stunning art, I'm hooked!
Solid first trade, interesting art and world building, not a typical fantasy comic.
Blending fantasy, western, and post-apocalyptic fiction, Coda is beautiful escapist storytelling in the visual style of Métal hurlant (Heavy Metal).
The world of Coda and its characters are quickly built and convincingly established. The art is absolutely stunning. The world-building is top-notch. The pacing masterfully moves from funny to tense to action-packed with impressive ease. The action choreography is sometimes a bit difficult to follow, but so much else is done so well that it quickly recovers.
