It feels really silly to give a book 4.75 stars, so I'm going to get the one ding out of the way-- There were times when the amount of jumping around in places and various stories really pulled me out of it or made it hard to concentrate on one full story.
BUT THAT WAS MY ONLY ISSUE WITH THIS BOOK, OKAY??? It just had to be said, mostly because I could see how it would be really difficult for some readers to keep reading. BUT YOU SHOULD!!!!
Everything else about this book was PERFECTION. I even pulled out my girly (pink) highlighter to make notes of things that I know I'll need to come back to in the future. There were so many times I thought to myself "I can't believe I didn't know that," or "I wish I had known that," or (most commonly) "SOMEONE WRITE A WHOLE NOVEL ABOUT THIS WOMAN!!!!!"
Mallory O'Meara has such a cool, fresh, hilariously witty voice. This could have been a 3,000 page text book and I would have read every single word.
If you are a woman and you like alcohol you NEED to go pick up this book. Run- RUN to go get this book!! And read it with a Cosmo, Glass of Champagne, Dram of Scotch, or a nice Rum Drink.
In closing, I will now tell every man I encounter in every bar ever that he just ordered "a girly drink", especially if it's something "traditionally masculine."
