this was a great end to the series- i feel like the story wrapped up nicely while still having a loose end (that does not feel like it needs to be wrapped up)
again, this trilogy is great on audio because they’re just rich futuristic teenage drama that is a little unhinged and crazy at times
am i going to think about these characters constantly, no but i still had fun and would recommend for anyone looking for a fun read 👍👍

I definitely treated this last installment to the trilogy as a "slow but steady" read, at first unintentionally because I was reading it as an e-book and then purposefully because I never wanted it to end. I will reread this trilogy over and over again because the writing has so many profound moments and extravagant qualities that I just want to absorb to its fullest. There is so much drama, so many twists and so much emotion because of how extremely strong my attachment to the characters was while reading. I always compare these books to Gossip Girl, but honestly, they are significantly better. Part of me wants a TV adaptation, but most of me wants it to stay only as books to save the risk of a poorly crafted show/movie. I truly hope Katharine McGee never stops writing!

Allemaal.

okay i got to admit, it took me SO LONG to get through this one because i started reading it with no motivation whatsoever. but when i started to read it again last week, let me tell you i was hooked again to this series. when i first started, i didn't know what i was getting myself into. after the first one, i immediately wanted the second and now with the finale. i dealt with all five stages of grief on this one. the plot twists made my stomach churn and my heart cracking into two. but the ending was so great, i honestly didn't even guess that would happen! but it was sort of obvious now that i think about it haha. overall, i love this series so much. it has a special place in my heart, and in my bookshelf :') thank you katharine <3

Can't say that the dystopian genre has ever been my favorite. This one was better than most but still didn't make me change my mind about dystopians. But the tower idea with all the technology was kind of cool; I just can't do the moral-less mindsets and everyone always out to get each other and how back and forth many of the character dynamics were, specifically Rylin and Cord. But this was the best out of the trilogy for me. I'm glad everyone got their happy ending and it did set up hope for Avery and Atlas.

Overall this book was pretty... meh. Overall, I felt like nothing really happened and the characters weren’t doing it for me. I still can’t get on board with Avery’s perspective because romance between siblings is not OK, even adoptive ones. I’ve never enjoyed Leda as a character so her and Watt’s perspectives were not for me. The only two perspectives that I could tolerate were Rylin and Calliope, but seeing as they are side characters, they often get pushed aside to make way for the others’ stories.

The trashy and entertaining mix of Flowers in the Attic, The OC, and Gossip Girl in a semi(semi)-futuristic setting.
