I knew I would be in for a treat with this book as soon as I read the blurb little did I know I would also get lots of free holidays ! I mean it seriously this book takes you on holiday! I’ve been to Paris, Florence, Rome and the Isle of Mull all from the comfort of my sofa. The descriptions of the scenery, the food, the hosts will make you want to pack your suitcase and grab your passport.
This is very much a will they won’t they read and written from both perspectives in alternate chapters you follow their adventures as they spend a year apart. Sam searching for the father who walked out on him and his mother years ago and Phoebe on the search for herself.
This is pure comfort reading , it wraps its arms around you in a hug and doesn’t let go. It’s like an old friend who turns up at your door and you didn’t realise how much you had missed them. This is a story that will warm your heart and nourish your soul.
In the words of Phoebe “Maybe in the end we are all just stories waiting to be shared.”

I loved the idea of this book, but it was disappointing. Sadly, I found the characters unlikeable and uninteresting.
Light and pleasant read, nice enough but just wasn’t as good as a lot of Miranda’s other books. I feel lots will really enjoy this and it was an entertaining read, just didn’t seem as magic or to flow as well as previous books

I really liked the initial premise of this book, which was two people having a love-at-first-sight moment in a train station and realizing that the other may very well be the person they’re meant to spend the rest of their life with. But their trains are going in opposite directions, so they agree to meet back at the same station a year later if they still want to be together. Unfortunately what follows is utter fluff, and not a lot of conflict (unless you count the main characters frustrating and nonsensical anxiety that has her delay the couple’s reunion for the last third of the book). I struggled to connect with the characters and the plot was simply disappointing. I expected some conflict, some wandering throughout the couples year apart, but they communicated through text and phone calls almost every week. So their reunion was just slow, and drawn out. Not in a way that added tension or delayed gratification of any sort, but unfortunately in a way that made the story boring.

The Day We Meet Again has the feel of the movies Before Sunrise and Serendipity to it.
Sam and Phoebe's meet cute had me adoring them right from the get go. Yes, this story is pure fluff, but sometimes that it just what the head and the heart want.
There are many ups and down in their year away from each other, but they are each other's constant. I am not one for insta-love, however I could suspend belief for long enough to get into this story.
But will they still be?
I enjoyed their postcards (wait, they still make postcards) and letters to each other, and makes it feel more real, that they are not just living it as a phone call away.
I did get frustrated in the later part of the story - where is all the communication they have been doing for a year gone?
At times, both Sam and Phoebe felt very immature for their ages - particularly Phoebe. I liked their sense of adventure, but sometimes came across as teenagers away from mummy and daddy for the first time.
So whilst this was a light read that I kept on reading, however I don't think it is one I would race back to read again.

I just couldn't get into this one. I have picked it up and put it back down multiple times in an attempt to read it. Whilst the writing is quite good, the story is just not holding my attention.

I liked the premise of this novel. Two people on the cusp of their own big adventure/voyage of self-discovery meet at St Pancras train station and strike up a conversation. Unbelievably they fall in love but decide to let fate decide, they will each go on their separate adventures and, if it was meant to be, they will meet again in 12 months time at the same place.
For me, the trouble was that I just didn't buy into the insta-lurve between Sam and Phoebe, I didn't really warm to either character or their romance and switching between two characters didn't really make for a cohesive reading experience. Having stopped and started the book twice I've regretfully decided it's not for me, no point in forcing myself to read a book if I'm not engaged.
