I liked this one. I especially like how the book admits to the code being flawed and hurting individuals, but ultimately keeping larger groups safe. It's an interesting read and I thought Badgerfang and the one about the kits were the most impactful <3

There's not much to say about this field guide apart from it was a compilation of the Warrior Code with short stories explaining why each rule came into place. The stories were too short to really comment on the writing but it was a nice compilation to read.

I loved the explanations, about the codes. It makes much more sense now. I was always wondering why a certain code existed. There are some spoiler for later books, so don't read this one to soon.

Code of the Clans is a collection of very quick stories telling how each rule of the warrior code (the laws that Clan cats live by) came to be. My only issue with the book is how extremely quick the stories are, and there's no effort at all to flesh out any of the characters -- but I also know that that's kinda the only way this could be written, without making it a massive novel. Each law has a couple of stories, one telling how that law was created, using cats from the very early Clan days, and one showing how the law works in more recent Clan times, often featuring younger versions of cats that are a bit older in Into the Wild. It's far from the best book in the overall series, but it is a fun read and it's nice to see how the code was created.
