It was slow paced, but consistent. I will say, personally, I think it would have been more interesting if they hadn’t had sex.
I will be thinking about this book for sometime. Such a simple yet complex look at what it is to be human. So much happened and yet nothing at all did. I’m glad I read it. It has left an impression on my soul.

Based on the summery I was expecting something adventurous or perhaps an exploration into the archaeological developments of 18th century… and I really didn’t get either. Archeology is mentioned on a surface level but really nothing of substance is done throughout with it… or even in the whole book tbh

Didn't hook me at all. The plot was barely there, the characters very one dimensional and the relationships were confusing at best.
