A really good first half that let me down a bit as it went on. It felt a bit like Awad wanted to put a lot of things in here but didn't find a way to give them all enough time to develop. The pacing is therefore a bit weird at times, as are some character decisions. I stuck around for the horror bits and have to say that those are used very effectively. Sometimes you maybe expect too much from a book, but despite that, it was still a decent read.

This is one of those bizarre and unhinged books that you can’t really explain or even articulate your feelings for, but it was An Experience and you will constantly be telling other people to read it

It’s important to go into this book with an open mind. It’s confused however it’s supposed to be. Very satirical and metaphorical.

This is a brilliant book and I loved it. The first 75 pages were quite slow but once the pace picked up, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one afternoon.

I’m not even sure what I just read.. it was like being on an acid trip in the best way possible. Mona Awads writing style for this book was perfect for blurring the lines of reality.
