What a bad book, so ridiculous, so dumb and unrealistic. I only liked Oliver's chapter, the third one. I had to stop myself for a moment and get sure if was Aciman's writing or some FanFiction in Wattpad.
It's so absurd, I can't understand how nobody around Aciman's circle couldn't told him, at least his editor, what a dumb sh!t he wrote. It's so different at CMBYN in every aspect. His writting decayed and it remains me to some 14 girl's romantic juvenile.
The first and second chapter have no sense. My second star is only cause I enjoyed some of the chats between the characters, but only because of that. They way they met, the way is unfold, what they do. Samuel met a girl, 12 hours later are planning a pregnancy ¿¿?? Wt hel!? she wanted to be with her brother and from nowhere and without a previous explanation she wanted to be slapped by him. My face was in a constant wt£ expression. Elio meet an old man, the other day the Old man feels like he can't live without Elio¿?? Too unrealistic man. Only 14 pages for Elio and Oliver, but I like to know that they end up together.
Nevertheless, very disappointing, even more when I compared with CMBYN.

I love how it’s split into three parts for each of the characters own journeys. I feel like other people might find the age gaps weird but the love between each character really makes those things feel like the least important thing in the moment.

This shit makes me want to love like they all do, the dialogue went hard😭

I was so excited to find out there was a sequel for CMBYN and ugh. Aciman has undoubtedly a beautiful style of writing that really draws me in to literally anything that he puts on paper. I wanted so much more from this book. The majority of it just felt so unnecessary and there were too many dimensions added to his original characters I just couldn’t get behind, it made the story unrealistic. In my head CMBYN is a stand alone and this doesn’t exist. Oopsies.
