“NO MORE LIES” by Rachel Abbott

No More Lies” is the eleventh instalment in the ‘DCI Tom Douglas’ thrillers and my first foray into this series.  I found it worked perfectly well as a standalone, with only brief mentions of the previous books, containing any information needed to understand what had transpired in the past. I have to say though, I’ve definitely been missing out by not reading this series sooner…..what a pleasure it was to discover such a refreshing police procedural with a storyline that could equally stand up as a psychological thriller on its own.

I loved the dual narrative style, seeing how the police investigation developed and then the inner thoughts of Mallory in the present and fifteen years ago. How the author was able to plan such twists and turns was just amazing and certainly kept me guessing. Considering “No More Lies” was one story, there was so many character’s viewpoints and rabbit holes, this could easy make a superb tv series just on its own! You definitely need to set aside time to read as much of this book as possible, it’s so addictive, to say it’s unputdownable is an understatement and now I’ve discovered Rachel Abbot she will be a certain go to author in the future! Highly recommended.

No More Lies is the 11th book in the brilliant DCI Tom Douglas series.  Right from the prologue this book will reel you in as it did me and you will struggle to put it down.  Rachel Abbott is an amazing author and her writing makes you feel like you’re actually there so vivid are her descriptions of people:and places .  I especially love the rapport between DCI Douglas and his work partner DI Robinson. This book is a fast paced read filled with tension and had me completely engrossed until the final chapter.   This book can be read as a standalone but if you haven’t already read the others in this brilliant series I highly recommend to go back and read them as like this one they are all fantastic reads.   5⭐️
