This book was always a bit of a background book that I would read in between other stories or when I got bored of my other books. The main reason for this being that it isn’t a story I would typically read. It’s based on mystery, but also has many dark elements included. Overall, I loved the pace of the story. This book definitely grabbed my attention and made it exciting to read. With every page, a new mystery was being solved. Although it took me a while to read this book, I still really enjoyed it. This was my second book by Dean Koontz, and dare I say my favorite. The fact that he managed to wrap a love story as a shining light in the darkness pushed this book over the edge. The characters were lovable and I found myself rooting for them and their relationship even when things got rough. I really enjoyed this book and have no major complains about it. It was definitely exciting to read something out of my comfort zone.
