When you were worried the second book wouldn’t live up to the first, and you had zero reason to worry!
📖 Skyla leaves her life as a prima ballerina behind to escape a stalker and start fresh in Bitterroot Valley, Montana, where she meets Beckett, a local cowboy who’s immediately drawn to the Irish woman who is friends with his sister.

💭 I’m a goner for those small moments where the MMC shows how he cares for and reveres the FMC. Love isn’t always big and loud, it’s small, consistent, thoughtful… and Beckett hits so many of those notes that he’s book boyfriend gold. And there’s some heat to balance it out.

There were a couple moments that felt a little rushed emotionally, but nothing that took away from how much I enjoyed this.

✨This is a book I highly recommend you move to the top of your TBR today.

**I suggest you read the first in the series to get an even better experience.

I really hoped to love When We Break. Kristen Proby's writing is smooth and easy to get lost in, but the story leaned too heavily into insta-love for my taste. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters, which made it difficult for me to feel emotionally connected to their relationship. While it was an enjoyable read, the absence of that spark left it lacking a lasting impact.

I couldn’t help but fall In love with this small town cowboy romance. Becket is such a gorgeous man and he has his eyes set on the saucy little dancer Skyla. I just love these two they were so made for one another. I swear they were instantly hooked at first glance. There lurks the reason why Skyla left her past behind and reared its ugly head. At least he was there to soothe her through her panic attacks and I loved she had such a fierce and loyal dog like Reilly. The steam between these two was enough to make me sweat . I loved all the characters in this story and I can’t wait to see what happens next for all the Blackwell siblings.

There's just something about a heroine in hiding when her man is extraaaa protective of her! I loved seeing Beckett make adjustments to his life so he could always be available for his "Irish" and her dog. So great!

I listened to the audiobook of When We Break, which was narrated by the absolutely AMAZING Connor Crais and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker in dual narration. These two did such a great job together with this project and I couldn't book the story down!
