It’s a Japanese “And Then There Were None”!!!!
Absolutely phenomenal. 4.5 ⭐️ and 0.5 docked for the character development being lacking.

It started off very interesting, but then as it kept going on it became more predictable for me. I did enjoy the little plot twist, that I was not expecting!

Horror books are often not scary enough for me, but The Decagon House Murders made me feel paranoid when reading in the dark by myself. It’s so reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s novel And Then There Were None, where all the main characters die. The backstories of the characters feel predictable, but Ayatsuji’s ability to keep the reader in the dark made me engrossed in the book until the end. I really appreciated the Epilogue as well—it was just enough suspense and closure combined that it didn’t feel like a cop out.

Great solution! Awesome whodunit
