This is a pretty strong mystery! Red herring after red herring, with a touch of relationship drama and eccentric detective(-ish) characters. The playful use of codenames is a writing choice I didn't realise would tie into the mystery, which I thought was smart.
This is a me problem, but I enjoy mysteries more if it's something the reader can piece together given enough clues. Unfortunately, the final chapter where the mystery is revealed is something I doubt a reader could figure out themselves while reading. Some people like it this way, I just found it frustrating. I like to at least be given an opportunity to solve the puzzle.
But overall, this book was exciting and a very solid read. I don't typically read crime fiction, but this is going to get me into it.

The mystery that propel the narrative of this book make it even more interesting for readers as we're wrapped up in ghost stories, secrets of the past and a for shadowing for murder. I liked this book. Glad I finally got around to reading it.

Really great murder mystery! It's old, but I didn't know anything about it, and really enjoyed this read. In a very Agatha Christie style, there's a wrap-up at the end to explain all the details :)
