When I was hearing this book getting all hyped I heard multiple people say this story followed Christopher. If you heard that like me, that claim is wrong. This follows Jack and Jill after they return to the Moors. The Moors are terrifying. My only complaint is that the books are longer. I could legit read a whole 1000 book on all the worlds.

I think it's revolutionary that the author went "you know what?? the characters I like deserve a peaceful life" after all of these chaotic series of events

I had some hemming and hawing about how much I enjoyed the first half of this book plot-wise simply because parts of it felt a little too recap-y for me. BUT I totally enjoy McGuire's writing and the Wayward characters, so I never was bored reading it! I loved seeing the power balances of the Moors and hearing about how this particular world is maintained, and I'm very happy with the ending (even if it was a tad bit rushed). It's a long wait for the 6th book, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for a Kade or Cora novel next!

I clearly keep pushing myself to read these books because I liked the first two.
I'm going describe my relationship with the Wayward Children books (in a weird way):
• I think we might have chemistry. I definitely have a crush
• Definitely in love
• No more feeling butterflies. But okay I guess
• it’s just not the same anymore; the magic is completely gone
• ughh. This needs to end
• I forgot that you existed and it was so niiiceee.
While this book was set in the same place as the 2nd book and we also had characters from that book; it’s like I said the Magic is gone and I do believe this series should end already.
I mean you had the moors and Jack and Jill and still I don’t feel it. It’s missing that spark. That special ingredient; it’s been gone since the 3rd book. This book just feels like a pointless addition to the series. It adds nothing. No other worlds are explored; characters have become just caricatures.
