I really wanted to love this book but it failed on so many levels

Characters - 2/5
Apart from the main character, all the others felt flat. They had no substance. I felt nothing for them, I could neither love nor hate them. They could've all died and it would have changed nothing for me.
But that doens't mean I loved the MC either. I just liked her enough to not DNF the book

Romance - 2.5/5
I have no idea why they fell in love or how or when ?

Plot - 3/5
Nothing original. It could've been great but it was so predictable. Everything I expected and didn't want to happen did.

Writing - 4/5
The writing was flowing.

Angst - 1/5
There was no angst in an Enemy to lovers trope! I need explanations!!

The action was great! The only reason for the Three star rating

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young

I feel like everyone knows Fable and her world, but not a lot is said of Eelyn of Hylli. I was drawn to this story because I wanted to read more Adrienne Young books, love the Viking vibes, and the FMC’s name is one letter off from my daughter’s name!

As a YA story, it hits all the marks for me. Epic story, coming of age, challenging what is for something better, sweet undercurrents of possible love in many forms, and a (mostly) happy ending.

Highly recommended!

This book was hard to put down. I just wanted to keep reading. I love the characters. The romance felt like attraction and not something you'd risk everything for. The rest of the book was great though. I'm looking forward to the next book
