I quite enjoyed Branagh's narration and all the accents and voices he conjured. It made the monotony of my road trip much more entertaining. I had picked up the ebook of this previously and put it down about halfway through because I just didn't find it that entertaining, but Branagh breathed a new life into it. This was the first Agatha Christie mystery and Poirot novel I've read, and I enjoyed it. I didn't know the twist going into it, but I was able to figure it out once it's revealed that
all of the passengers on the train are entangled in the Daisy Armstrong case
. The story takes a while to get going (probably why I put it down before), but once it starts twisting and turning, things get interesting. Maybe I'll give Death on the Nile a shot.

The older language in this book made it a little harder to understand but overall was a pretty good read. A bit boring at times but the ending made up for it.

A fun and very intriguing mystery. I’d admittedly gotten spoiled on the big twist beforehand, but still found it a delightful read due to the wacky mechanics of the murder and the fun cast of characters.

This was my first Poirot mystery. Poirot is a delightful protagonist, as hilarious as he is skillful.

I don’t think this story was particularly tense or high stakes due to… erm…
how evil the victim was.
It felt weirdly relaxed and fun despite being a murder mystery (the book has a great sense of humor). But that didn’t take away from how intriguing the mystery was.

The ending was a little bit abrupt, but I loved it. Made me laugh.
