This is the first Agatha Christie I've ever read. Delightful, and much more subtly funny than I'd expected.

Not my usual book, but was engaging and I thought the ending was so unique.
Unfortunately I'd seen the end of the movie version of this story on TV. Knowing the ending made it interesting to see how the clues were laid out and tied together. I think I would have been fairly lost and quite surprised to read the ending had I not seen it before.
I enjoyed the story greatly just like I did with the other Hercule Poirot mystery I read. I have some more Agatha Christie books lined up. I'm looking forward to them as well.

Warning to parents: this book contains blatant racism and parents should discuss the faulty views that were pandemic to pre-WWII. Example: "Assuredly," said Poirot. "Especially in the heat of a quarrel. But this- this is a different type of crime. I have the little idea, my friend, that this is a crime very carefully planned and staged. It is a far-sighted, long-headed crime. It is not, how shall I express it?, a Latin [Italian] crime. It is a crime that shows traces of a cool, resourceful, deliberate brain- I think an Anglo-Saxon brain."
I do not think this book has any value in 2018; the logic was faulty, there was no science involved, and the book is filled with stereotypes, racism, and misogyny. The value of the book comes from Poirot and the humor associated with his mustache; a great and interesting character.

The ending is definitely interesting, but it takes SO long for this book to be intriguing.
Oh man. This book has to be one of the best mystery books ever. It was a quick read. I could of read it a lot quicker. It was one of those books that keeps you on your toes and makes you think about many different outcomes at one time. My first Agatha Christie book. I plan on reading more. I highly suggest this book.
