I was half asleep every time I picked this up to read it so I had no brainpower to try to unravel the mystery before the book did 😂
Regardless it was very good!

The only thing that needs to be said is: Agatha Christie is the Queen of Mystery. I was unable to put this down.
My first Agatha Christie and I'll keep saying it, it's always an absolutely joyous feeling when an artist lives up to the hype.
Hercule Poirot is very hard not to fall in love with, an almost obnoxiously brilliant man, almost. Even though he is driven by nothing more than the satisfaction of pushing his powers of deduction to their limits, he dedicates those powers to the lives, and deaths of others.
This needs a reread, what I imagine is par for the course for Christie, there is an overwhelming amount of detail and character crammed into this book. It would be deeply satisfying to just sit down and break it down, piece by piece, plot by plot, like picking a part a machine and then putting it back together, watching it churn and whirl as a whole body after the fact.
With that said, her writing is Herculean, pun intended as she seems to weave and bob, play with and strain the fundamentals of her craft, constantly self referencing and contradicting her genre. A true ''author's author", mastering and in turn pushing the form.
For me the beauty of this book is in the structure of it, and I can't quite say I've got a grasp on it yet, but I'll revisit it and do a thorough review then.

4.5 Classic mysteries, my jam! Literally a murder happens and Poirot interviews everyone, that is it. And I loved it. Very fast paced, with a clever ending that left me a bit indifferent but fits excellent in the story. The book has that old-fashioned detective vibe, any mystery lover will appreciate it.
