I enjoyed this book although it was slightly too quirky for me, particularly the characters of Karl and Agatha. The exploration of death and grief was done really well from 7 year old Millie's point of view though. I look forward to reading more from Brooke Davis - this is this young Aussie author's first novel.

A beautifully written story about, love, loss and how it affect us all. As a mother who has lost a partner, I was devastated at the way Millie was treated by her mother.
The theme of the book centers around death, but it shows us that even though we are on the path to death from the moment we are born, we have to let that go and make the most of the time we have in between.

If you like books that make you feel and think deeply then I recommend it.

This book was absolutely fantastic. The prose is lyrical; the characters have depth and demand your empathy; the plot has momentum. So many of Davis's descriptions were so beautiful, I wish I'd read the book so I could've highlighted my favorites. Listening to the audio, however, had its perks, for the Australian accents of the 3 main characters added to the drama of the story.

Millie wants to find her mother who's abandoned her in a department store, Karl the Touch Typist doesn't know how to live out his old age without his wife, and Agatha Panther despairs of the face wrinkles she acquires as she ages. Together, this trio strikes an unlikely team, but it's quickly obvious they need each other. My heart breaks for Millie. My heart breaks again and again throughout this novel for its sheer beauty. Honest in its embrace of death as a part of life, LOST AND FOUND ultimately celebrates the enchantments of life.

The best fiction I've read in a while.

This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I debated giving it 5 stars because I tend to reserve that for books that truly push the boundaries and I think will forever impact me. But this book was too fun not to acknowledge how truly wonderful it is. It has impacted me a lot, surprisingly, and couldn't have come at a better time. It's funny but eerily depressing at the same time. Very well written. I got my eyes on Brooke Davis now.

What a voice! I stumbled across this book and picked it up without knowing much about it. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is an amazing debut by a crazy-talented writer. I was often laughing and crying on the same page. I can't recommend this book enough. Check this out if you are bored with your reading choices lately and want to discover a fresh new voice.
