Wow, this book is a mind twister in the best way possible! It’s difficult to review without giving away any kind of spoilers. I had the benefit of knowing nothing about the book, and surprise after dark surprise unfolded. I’d recommend this book for anyone who liked thrillers, Colleen Hoover’s Verity, or anyone looking for fast pacing and an unputdownable read.
And then that ending…
This book is well written and interesting. The story is well told. I predicted everything… except the end. I did NOT see that coming. The epilogue was such a shock!

I enjoyed the second half of this book more than the first, but I was able to guess the twist early on and found most of it to be rather predictable.
At exactly 50% point (according to my Kobo). Enjoying this so far although I did think the writer is a bit verbose at times.
I'm absolutely suspecting the wife here. There's something very fishy about her. Can't wait to get to the end!
**
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who saw that plot twist a mile off. Nevertheless, I've always enjoyed books about writers and books within books - and this was both so this is good enough for a 3 star for me.
I'm not sure why the author felt the need for so much foreshadowing though. Or why she thinks Indians and Bangladeshis are SouthEAST Asians (Chapter 23)

Meh…I figured out the twist about 50 pages in and if you have half a brain, you will too. This one could’ve been really good though; it had twisty characters and an interesting plot…but neither of these were cleverly disguised. So, it was meh.
REALLY liked this one!!! Starts out a little slow but once it gets going the story is GOING. I saw the twist coming about 3/4 of the way through the book but really enjoyed reading the details of it all unfolding. I also really liked the authors writing style and the ability to create characters you can actually form a relationship with throughout the book. You find yourself rooting for Jacob despite the character flaws and by the end you just kind of have to suffer with him.

decent mystery and worth the read, I'd guessed the twist pretty early but not the full picture so it was interesting to see how it played out. in that last chapter it sorta lost its luster, or maybe I just realized I didn't care that much. definitely good for people who don't usually read mysteries/thrillers (me) and wanna read something that's well-written but still feels more or less like a popcorn read
