This book is very hubristic. I took that word directly from the book because it summarizes my review of the writing in this book. Granted, the main character is a literary author, so I expect him to have a great vocabulary. However, I don't expect most sentences to be stuffed with it!
And the plot in The Plot is so over built. By the time it's finally revealed I felt like, "That's it?!?"

This book was fantastic! It sets up the idea of a brand new plot that nobody has seen before, and gives itself a lot to live up to. And for me, it really delivered. Such a page-turner, and it raises interesting questions about stories and who tells them. This was a real joy to read!

The writing style was, I thought, the plot to kill me. It was irritating at first, and I stopped reading the book. It seemed so predictable to me where it was going (I even read the end to prove myself right). Still, the book sat there staring at me, daring me to finish it - it was for book club, so I thought I should finish it.
WELL - the book should have a pop-up in the middle of it that says "Betcha didn't see THIS coming, did you?"
The Plot has a big surprise!!!! If you decide to read it, keep on trucking, 'cause it's a wild ride!
