I picked this book up without any real knowledge about the author or her background and yet I found it incredible. It was an unputdownable, raw, vulnerable, and beautiful memoir. Highly recommend (just check trigger warnings!)

Loved it, took most of it as a cautionary tale, tragically great.

Didn’t feel fully baked. Reads like a trauma dump. Feels raw and honest, but not fully processed trauma that could have benefitted from a decade of personal reflection.

I truly admire Ms. McCurdy for finding and sticking with the strength to heal after abuse. So much abuse. It’s not easy. This book gives me so much hope for my own future away from abusers. I love how Ms. McCurdy doesn’t shy away from her truth, even stories that don’t make her look the best. It really endeared her to me and other readers.
