I don’t like to rate memoirs. It feels strange to put a rating on someone’s life story. This is a well written, well read telling of a child actor who has been abused by her mother and, to a degree, the entertainment industry. It’s a heartbreaking and hopeful account of recovery and healing work from  abuse and addiction.

Extremely vulnerable book where it dives into the BTS of child acting.

Not sure how to rate a memoir; I don't read many of them. It was very fast pacsd and kept me engaged, I kept saying "ok, I'll stop here for now," to catch up with other reading, but I kept wanting to pick it back up. My only criticism (I guess) is that the "I'm Glad my Mom Died" sentiment only really came up in the very, very last chapter which lasted 5 minutes (audiobook). And that chapter kind of read like a closing paragraph for an essay ("All in all, brief recap... the end!" Is this how all memoirs are? I should read more of them.) Perhaps I thought she'd have more to say about her "healing journey."

Including trigger warnings doesn't "enable" the behavior. Awful take
